Theres snow on the ground! In London! And its been there for almost 24 hours! We occasionally get a dusting down here in London, but it rarely sticks around. Its seriously cold (by local standards); there may be casualties in the garden. And on the roads toopeople dont know how to cope with ice. Just walking in to the course this morning (which was glorious, walking across a freshly whitened Tooting Bec Common), we saw a man come off his motorcycle on the ice (luckily he was ok), and cars skidding all over the place. Colleagues saw people falling off bikes, and one person saw a car that had driven into the side of a house. Trains are even more not running than usual.

After a very good day on the course, I came home and taught my student John, who is soon to be heading back to the USA. I shall miss working with him.

Its time now for a brief late lute session, and then bed.
